RN-Nyaganneftegaz introduces advanced Russian technologies to reduce well workover time – successful implementation of Clean Well technology

Technology clean well allows for one tripping operation to remove elements of plug formation of mechanical impurities.

Moscow, July 2 – IA Neftegaz.RU.  RN-Nyaganneftegaz, a subsidiary of Rosneft, introduces an innovative method for normalizing well bottomholes after hydraulic fracturing (hydraulic fracturing).
This was reported by the press service of Rosneft.

Normalization slaughter after hydraulic fracturing – the release of the wellbore from the proppant plug to the planned bottom hole.
Also in 2020 LUKOIL announced the technology clean well at its fields in Komi and Western Siberia.

For the inquisitive, let us recall that the main reason for the decrease in the productivity of production and injection wells during their operation, wells after hydraulic fracturing, is well clogging.
Moreover, after hydraulic fracturing, the main challenge is proppant run-out into the well.
Well clogging reduces permeability near-wellbore part of the reservoir, causing a decrease in the productivity factor or injectivity factor of the operated well.
By “colmation” is meant:

  • bottom hole contamination drilling fluid when opening a productive layer,
  • deterioration of the properties of the bottomhole formation zone during cementation and perforation of the productive interval,
  • swelling of clay or the removal of sand into the volume of the well from the reservoir during long-term operation of the well.

The “clean well” technology has been tested at the Kamennoye and Em-Yegovoskoye fields and allows reducing the bottom hole restoration operation by more than 70% (16 brigade hours against the standard 65 brigade hours).

The unique domestic technology is a complex metal assembly, which removes the elements of plug formation of mechanical impurities in 1 round-trip operation.

Unlike other classical well workover technologies after hydraulic fracturing, this technology:

  • allows you to reduce the time of the operation to restore the face,
  • completely eliminate the effect of the flushing fluid on the working formation, and, as a result, increase the productivity of the formation.

RN-Nyaganneftegaz is the main oil producing enterprise in the city of Nyagan.
The operating facilities are located at the Krasnoleninskoye arch of deposits, the commercial operation of which began in 1980. It
operates at 3  licensed subsoil areas located on the territory of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug.
The main mining assets are Em-Yogovsky and Kamenny licensed subsoil areas.
In 2021, the company, based on the results of exploration and production drilling replenished stocks by 282% or almost 13 million tons of oil.

In 2021 RN-Nyaganneftegaz was reorganized, during which Nyaganneft was spun off from the company as part of a series of transactions between Rosneft and the Independent Oil and Gas Company of E. Khudainatov.
The newly created company entered the pool of tailings assets in the south of Russia, about. Sakhalin, the Volga-Ural region, Timan-Pechora and Western Siberia, the sale of which was initiated by Rosneft at the end of 2020 in order to improve the resource base.
Majority these assets passed to Independent Oil and Gas Company, although there were other buyers.
